Ok – I’m a week behind on this one but cut me some slack homies, I just got back from the motherland.
One of my favorites publications, New York Magazine has a really cool look at breakfast and what we eat in the morning. I am not usually a fan of breakie as I am more of a brunch gal (read: bloody marys) but this article and subsequent mini articles on ingredients really inspired me to get down with the AM meal. The food editors at NYM taste-tested several brands of eggs (both supermarket and greenmarket brands) and bacon (again, both supermarket and greenmarket brands) while resident food critic, Adam Platt, tasted 100 cereals. Here are the results:

Clinton St. Baking Company (The best pancakes ever. The Buttermilk Biscuit Sandwich is ridic. Think bacon, eggs and cheese but the size of your head)
Prune (The best bloody mary ever. Perfect Soft Scrambled Eggs)
iCi (Generally great. Incredible bacon and coffee)
Jane (Great bloodys. Supremely amazing Vanilla Bean French Toast. Eggs Benedict to die for and of course, a deelish Bloody)
So, go on your way my lovlies and create your own breakfast ritual. My personal weekday fave is Fage Yogurt (1% fat), Bear Naked Granola (any kind will do) mixed with fresh strawberries and bananas. It’s guaranteed to keep you full until well after lunch time.
